What happens when you mix glorious weather, 18 enthusiastic club members, three boats, and a craving for pizza? You get an unforgettable day out on the River Dart! This weekend, our club took to the water for a fantastic social row from Dartmouth up to Galmpton, and it was an absolute triumph.
With the sun shining bright, our three crews set off from Dartmouth in high spirits. The conditions couldn’t have been more perfect for a group row as we navigated our way to The Creek restaurant in Galmpton.
By the time we pulled up, the rowing had worked up a massive appetite. The team at The Creek looked after us brilliantly, serving up stacks of delicious, fresh pizzas and ice-cold drinks. It was the perfect reward for our efforts, filled with plenty of laughter and chat!
After fueling up, we hopped back into the boats for the journey back downriver.
On the way home, we made a tactical stop at the FBI in Dittisham – the perfect pitstop for some well-deserved afternoon refreshments.
From Dittisham, it was a smooth, final row back to Dartmouth.
It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout for this social event. Having 18 members out on the water together really showed the amazing spirit of our club. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, helped organize the logistics, and brought such great energy to the day.
